Rena Fishcamp is now under new ownership!

John and Silje bond are coming here to the Rena river from Livingston Montana right outside of Yellowstone National Park and on the banks of the famous Yellowstone River. They’ve made this decision to be closer to Silje‘s family in southern Norway where Silje grew up in the town of Fevik. Silje, John and their two little daughters made the big decision in the winter of 2019 to take the big leap and purchase the Rena Fishcamp. It was a long and difficult process without there being a COVID-19 worldwide but they finalized their decision by selling their house in Montana in the summer of 2020. Silje and the kids made their way to Norway while John stayed back in Montana finishing the sale of the house and trying to go out with a bang his last guide season fly fishing in Montana. It was bittersweet leaving such a beautiful and unique ecosystem and all the great rivers of Montana but Norway is also a beautiful and special place as well and is probably one of the best places in the world to raise a family. We are very excited to be settling in to our new home in Deset along the banks of the Rena River and looking forward to meeting the local community and getting to know all of the fishermen that visit this beautiful river.

We have big plans of having the café open a short time for breakfast and also offering pack out fisherman lunches, and then re-opening the café for a few hours in the evening to serve dinner and beverages. Our Fly Shop will be located in the café so people can eat and observe our wonderful selection of flies and other fishy items. We look forward to having many fun events and functions at the Fishcamp including fishing festivals, friendly competitions, barbecues and birthday parties. We will also be hosting G. Loomis events where people can come and demo the newest and greatest fly rods on the market as well as Scientific Anglers fly lines. We will also have a great selection of hand tied flies specific to the Rena and a whole selection of Loon products. Also a few other necessities to make your stay and time on the water as good as can be. We will be offering a variety of different rental boats and lessons on safety and how to operate these boats. Also consider a guided trip in one of the drift boats or rafts. Let our knowledgeable and experienced guides do all the work while you take all the shots at rising fish while floating down the beautiful river and exploring new sections and seeing new aspects of the river only seen from adrift. Also offering new adventures, venturing out to different rivers in our local area to give clients and guest some new rivers to explore in this beautiful community. We will also be doing early season lake fishing trips after ice off for some of the bigger fish that live in Storsjøen lake just above the Rena. Feel free to contact us to host an event, birthdays weddings, concerts and other celebrations.

We can also host work events, play and fish during the day and business in the evening. Looking forward to doing catering events for the local community and also offering our café restaurant atmosphere for the locals. John is planning yearly group adventures, and hosted trips for Fly fishing every year. Currently we are planning a trip in 2022 back to Montana to fish the greater Yellowstone ecosystem and all of its famous rivers. We are also planning trips to South America during the winter months as well as New Zealand. Late fall to Iceland and locally doing Atlantic Salmon trips. Anyone and everyone is invited to come along for these hosted trips around the world. Contact John, at the Fishcamp for information on these hosted trips or any of your catering events needs. Please feel free to give us a call anytime. We look forward to hearing from you or seeing you at the Fishcamp.
