Meet the new owners, John and Silje

Silje and John Bond have been living in Montana USA for the last 10 years just steps away from the famous Yellowstone National Park. John worked as a fishing guide and butcher and Silje was working as a seamstress, sewing/creating beautiful wedding dresses. John grew up fly-fishing with his family and eventually moved to Montana to fish all of the beautiful rivers where he fulfilled his dream of becoming a fishing guide. He started fishing at a young age with his mother and father, mostly with dry-flies but his passion has evolved to love all forms of fly-fishing.

Silje grew up on the southern coast of Norway with her family. She was visiting the United States where they met, fell in love and started a journey together. Silje has been fly-fishing for the last 10 years and absolutely loves it. She is an experienced angler, rower, and teaches the basics of fly-fishing to anyone that is interested in picking up a rod and taking a walk along the river. They are a fly-fishing family with two daughters, Isabella and Remi Louise, and their dog Dragon. Isabella is only four years old but she has been helping her dad tie flies since the age of two and has already created a few of her own fly patterns. Isabella loves to fly-fish even though we are still working on her cast and knots. It was hard for them to leave beautiful Montana and the Yellowstone river but in 2020 they made the decision to raise their little family in Norway and to be closer to Silje’s large and wonderful family.

When the Rena Fishcamp came up for sale John told Silje if she was ever going to get him to leave Montana for Norway this was her chance. They made it to Norway in 2020 and are eager to learn and grow with the local community and meet and greet all new and returning customers to their new home at Rena Fishcamp.
